John Wright Follette
Brother Follette was indeed a forerunner in the early Pentecostal movement. He experienced salvation early in life and received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit in 1907 while a student at Rochester Bible Training School in Rochester, NY. In 1911 he was ordained by the Council of Pentecostal Ministers at Elim Tabernacle, Rochester. He was both a college and seminary man associated with the Assemblies of God. However, with all his natural abilities, which is evident in his speaking, he ever emphasized that "truth cometh by revelation."
An exceptionally gifted and highly spiritual Bible teacher, his ministry took him around the world and into many Bible colleges as a teacher as well as a popular convention and camp meeting speaker. He passed away shortly before his 83rd birthday on October 3, 1966.
He wrote two books in his lifetime, "Smoking Flax," a book of his poetry with explanations and "Broken Bread," a book of his messages with poems interspersed. Several books were written after his passing from his recorded messages.
